Sahibu is a member network for refugees, by refugees for offering targeted information, alerts and opportunieis better than other social networks since it works on feature phones. For refugees living in camps like Kakuma and Daadab, communicating with loved ones and accessing information are crucial needs that are deeply challenging to meet. Refugees don’t have a platform to encourage and support one another, or to seek help from organizations if their rights are violated. Sahibu offers refugees in camps an SMS communication platform so that they can build connections with each other, share their stories and concerns, and access crucial information. As a result, refugees become more empowered, motivated, and recognized as human beings who have dignity and rights.
