Recently, we asked Windows Insiders from around the world to vote on their favorite Windows 10 Insider Preview Redstone 5 (RS5) features. Insiders got a chance to preview these features over the past six months before they’re released in the upcoming Windows 10 October 2018 Update.
It’s always interesting to see what catches the interest of our Insiders. In our last Windows 10 Fall Update (RedStone 4) vote, an improved gaming experience was the run-away winner with almost 25% of votes, followed improvements to Microsoft Edge and storage management.
This year, the vote was much closer. Taking top spot with 13% of the vote was a security feature called “Block suspicious behaviors”, which can help prevent ransomware and other destructive malware from changing your personal files.
Not far behind, with 11% of the vote, was the improvements we made to Notepad. Dark Theme for File Explorer and a new copy-paste clipboard experience tied for third — each getting 10% of the vote.
To make voting easy, Insiders selected from the top – 15 list below which we assembled based on feedback and upvotes in the Feedback Hub. We also provided an ‘open field’ for Insiders to provide their own feature suggestions.
Thanks to everyone who participated! As with all your feedback, these results will help shape our priorities for the next version of Windows and beyond.
