New Windows 10 Insider Preview Features for Business

Here are some recent Insider Preview build highlights designed specifically for the needs of organizations and IT Professionals.1


AutoPilot – now with BitLocker policy. Deliver BitLocker policy at OOBE so you no longer have to decrypt and re-encrypt to get automatic BitLocker devices to meet policy (e.g. 256-bit encryption). (Build 17729)

New Microsoft Edge Group Policies. New Group Policies and MDM settings include enabling/disabling functions like full-screen mode, configuring startup options and managing extensions. (Build 17723)

Improved Microsoft Edge kiosk mode. Create a tailored browsing experience designed for kiosk devices using assigned access. You can show only a single URL in full-screen, restrict Microsoft Edge for public browsing and configure a multi-app kiosk device to run a full or normal version of Microsoft Edge. Remote Desktop with biometrics. If you’re on Azure Active Directory or Active Directory and use Windows Hello for Business, you can use face, fingerprint or PIN to authenticate to a remote desktop session. (Build 17713)

Windows logon for non-ADFS providers. We are introducing “Web Sign-in,” a new way of signing into your Windows PC which enables Windows logon support for non-ADFS federated providers (e.g. SAML). (Build 17713)

Windows Defender Application Guard Improvements. Standalone users can now install and configure their Windows Defender Application Guard settings in Windows Security without needing to change Registry key settings. Users can also check settings managed by enterprise policies. (Build 17713)

Windows Security Improvements. Users can go to Update and Security>Virus & Threat Protection to manage any current threats that need action. On the same screen, under Manage Settings, users can "Block suspicious behaviors" to protect your PC from infected apps or files. (Build 17704)
