CASPEM - Cassava Peel Meal product

For Nigerian smallholder poultry and livestock farmers, CASPEM reduces cost and increases the nutritional value of feed, by using nutrient-rich cassava peels instead of corn. In Nigeria, the high cost of feed and its constrained supply causes smallholder poultry and livestock farmers to struggle to earn their livelihoods. CASPEM produces a feed from cassava peels, which is nutritious and a significantly less expensive alternative to regular corn-based feeds. The peels are sourced from readily available but untapped agricultural waste collected from the community. By improving access to affordable livestock feed, CASPEM aims to ultimately reduce poverty and increasing the prosperity of smallholder farmers.
